When possible, use original boxes and packing materials.
Use double-walled boxes when available.
Your box should be slightly larger than the component to allow for padding with material to cushion and protect the item.
Components should be packed individually for the most part. Smaller components may be packed together provided they are well protected with the heaviest items on the bottom.
Never use packing peanuts when packing electronics. Small fragments of styrofoam can get inside and damage your equipment.
Be sure to keep cords with components or clearly mark cords to facilitate reconnection at new location.
