Remove light bulb and lamp harp from the base.  Wrap these items individually and place in a box.

Use plenty of paper to fill empty spaces and prevent movement. 

Wrap lamp shades separately.  DO NOT use newspaper as ink may transfer to shade fabric. Use plain paper or tissue, towels or pillowcases instead. 

Your box should be slightly larger than the largest lamp shade.  Line the box with crumpled paper all the way around the shade. 

Shades may be nested as long as they do not touch one another. 

Clearly mark the box  “LAMP SHADES”.  (Identify for which lamp if necessary) Mark boxes containing shades “TOP LOAD ONLY”.

It is a good idea to pack silk shades separately from others as silk can easily stretch and be ruined.
